Norma Blake Funck, 60, of Longwood, FL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 9, 2017.

Norma was the center of her family. The one who took care of everyone and the one who would give her last of anything to help another.

This amazing woman stared cancer in face and said "I am not a statistic." She fought hard and never gave up. In 2010, she was told she had four months to a year and a half to live, but she had other plans, with the help of an impeccable medical team, the love of her family and a massive prayer circle, she crushed those statistics. Her will, determination and love for her life resulted in almost seven years of a ferocious fight. Her journey amazed her physicians and now gives hope to those who have unfortunately been bestowed her same diagnosis. Her family could not be more proud of her.

Norma is survived by her longtime partner of 19 years, Edward Arthur White, Jr., of Longwood, FL, four daughters, Janet Pace Booth of Ponchatoula, LA, Tina Lee Funck-Thatcher, of Altamonte Springs, FL, Renee Jean Cantu of Casselberry, FL, and Sonnie Lynn Funck-Skinner of Lakeland, FL. Her stepson Edward Alexander White, of Altamonte Springs, FL. Her beloved grandchildren, Tori and Taylor Thatcher of Altamonte Springs, FL, Tristen, Chyann and Yandel Cantu of Casselberry, FL, Nathaniel and Jonathan Funck of Lakeland, FL, Amanda, Catie and John of Ponchatoula, LA. Along with two sons-in-law, Ricardo Cantu of Casselberry, FL and Jeremy Scott Skinner of Lakeland, FL. Alisia Marie Short, Christian Joseph Short and Ashton Joseph Funck of Tavares, FL, along with countless other dear friends and family members.

Norma was preceded in death by her loving parents, Helen L. and Joseph Adam Blake, Jr., her beautiful sister Dollie Theresa Blake Pace and her husband John Joseph Funck III.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 15 from 5-8pm at Baldwin Fairchild East Altamonte, 994 E Altamonte Dr., Altamonte Springs, FL 32701. Funeral service will follow Saturday, September 16 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment at All Faiths Memorial Park.
